Vulcanair VF600W Mission

Using the fuselage of the SF600, Vulcanair developed a single engine turboprop aircraft similar to the Cessna Grand Caravan, but slightly longer. This VF600W Mission has a box-like fuselage with small, rounded rectangular cabin windows. Typical are the eyebrow cockpit windows. There is a turboprop engine in the nose with a five blade propeller. It is fed by two air intakes under the spinner and has exhausts at both sides of the nose. Below the nose is a bulge with a landing light at the front. The fixed nose gear is attached to it. The single wheel main gear is attached via curved struts to the underside of the fuselage, just behind the wing struts. The vetical stabiliser is swept and has straight edges. In front is a triangular dorsal fin. Only one prototype was built. (photo: Konstantin von Wedelstaedt/Wikimedia, modified)

Similar aircraft

Some airplanes look so similar to the VF600W that you may confuse them. Below you can read how to distinguish them.

Differences VF600W & Cessna 208

vulcanair vf600w

The airplane most similar to the VF600W is the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan. It is most easily recognised by its larger cabin windows (in particular compared to the cockpit windows), lack of eyebrow cockpit windows and (in most cases) a single exhaust.

Differences VF600W & Daher (Quest) Kodiak

The Daher (Quest) Kodiak has a similar general appearance as the VF600W, but is shorter and has a bigger tail, giving it a "stubbier" appearance. Also there is a single air intake is below the spinner. Finally, the Kodiak lacks eyebrow cockpit windows.

Differences VF600W & GippsAero GA10

The GippsAero GA10 has larger windows than the VF600W, exhausts at the lower sides of the nose and a more triangular shaped tail, apart from smaller differences. (photo: Bidgee/WikiMedia)

Differences VF600W & Explorer 350R/500T

explorer 350r

This is another Vulcanair Mission look-a-like, recognisable by the retractable landing gear and associated streamline bodies at the wing strut attachment. Also, the cabin windows of the Explorer are larger than those of the VF600W.
